The idea
Type a Bluesky handle and Rush Hour reads that account's recent posts. It draws a grid of the hours of the week, showing when the posts go up and when they get the most likes. A second panel, "What Lands," compares the top 10% of posts against the rest.
The three steps
- Type a handle. With or without the @, or paste a link to the profile. It works on any public account, not only your own.
- Wait a moment. It reads the newest 500 posts first. Press "Load 500 more" to go further back, up to 5,000.
- Look around. Switch the grid between how many posts and the average likes, and between your own time and UTC. Click a square (or move to it with the arrow keys and press Enter) to see the posts from that hour.
What it counts
- The grid counts the account's own posts and quote posts. Replies and reposts are left out, so a night of chatting doesn't hide when the real posts go up.
- "Does best" means likes. Reposts, quotes and replies are not added in.
- Average likes for a square needs at least 3 posts in it to count toward the "best time" line. Squares with fewer are drawn with a dotted edge. A few posts in a square can be luck, not a pattern.
- What Lands looks at replies too, so it can tell you if replies do better or worse. It needs at least 20 posts. The top 10% is the 10% with the most likes, and the rest is everything else.
- A picture means an image, a video or a GIF. A post's opening word is the first word of its text.
Good to know
- Public posts only, read straight from Bluesky by your browser. Nothing is sent to our server or stored.
- Like counts are as of the moment the posts were read. New posts haven't had time to collect likes yet, so very recent posts look weaker than they will.
- The newest posts come first. If an account has more posts than were read, the picture is of its recent past, not its whole life.
- Hours are in your own time zone unless you switch to UTC.
