How the Joke Tightener works

The idea

A joke usually gets funnier when it gets shorter. Paste a joke or a draft post and the Tightener flags the words that pad it out. You decide what to cut. It never rewrites anything on its own.

The three steps

  1. Paste or type your joke. The whole joke, setup and punchline together.
  2. Look at the flags. Yellow words are filler or hedges. Tap one to cut it, or tap its button in the list.
  3. Tighten. Cut flags one at a time, or press "Tighten it all" to cut every one at once. Undo brings the text back. Then copy it or open it in Bluesky.
